If you have been with me for awhile, you know that reading hasn't always been my thing.. I still have a difficult time finding books that interest me and keep me engaged until the end but after lots of attempts, I have found that if I'm going to finish a book, it has to be something I am going to learn from. It can't be just any non-fiction book though. I want to read something that will help me grow as a person, either personally, professionally, as a mom or wife, etc.

With summer underway, I have accumulated a list of some of my favorite books that have helped me grow and develop my teaching philosophies throughout the past couple of years. Here are my 10 must read books for teachers:

#1: Learn Like a Pirate

#2: The Wild Card

#3: Better Than Carrots or Sticks: Restorative Practices for Positive Classroom Management

#4: Discipline with Dignity

#5: I Wish My Teacher Knew

#6: Go See the Principal

#7: Your First Year of Teaching

#8: Choice Words

#9: The Essential 55

#10: The Next Step Forward in Guided Reading

I hope you found at least 1 book that is a must read for you!
