Why You Need Friends Who are Moms AND Entrepreneurs

It was August of 2020 when I decided to leave my full time teaching job to pursue my coaching business full time. As excited as I was to finally be pursuing my dreams of owning my own business… something was missing. It was the friendships that come along with working in a school setting. My coworkers were still all my friends but it was so hard not seeing them on the daily any more.

As that first year went on and the pandemic surged, I found myself being really lonely. It was then that I decided that I needed to find myself friends who could relate to the struggles and triumphs I was experiencing while being both a mom and a business owner. Keep reading to find out where I found some of my absolute best friends! I honestly cannot imagine life without them now and am so grateful for these relationships!

Where to find friends:

1. Join an online community for entrepreneurs. There are tons of online communities out there that are specifically for entrepreneurs. This is a great way to find people who understand what you're going through and can offer advice and support.

2. Attend entrepreneurship events. There are usually lots of events happening in most cities that are geared towards entrepreneurs. This is a great way to meet like-minded people and network. I swear by networking! Not only does it allow me to meet new people and form new relationships, it is the number one way I book new clients!

3. Connect with people online. Social media is a great way to connect with other entrepreneurs. Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn are all great platforms to use for this. My absolute bestie is a friend I met on Instagram. It took us over a year to meet in person but now we get together multiple times a year and go on mini vacations with our husbands. It's the best!

4. Reach out to other moms who are entrepreneurs. It can be helpful to connect with other moms who are also entrepreneurs. It can be scary to initiate a new relationship but It's so worth it! They understand the unique challenges that come with being a mom and an entrepreneur, so they can offer support and advice.

Join an online forum or social media group specifically for entrepreneurs; these are great places to connect with people who understand what you're going through.
